ECHOES

May 2017 Pretoria Arts Association

An Exhibition of Ink on Claybord

The vessels (pots) depicted in the exhibition contain the echoes of life. Throughout our lifetimes we experience many emotions. The vessels (pots) symbolize the amygdala, the part of the human brain responsible for capturing these emotional memories, hard wiring them into our memories, and making them echo throughout our existence.

There are other symbols repeated in the various works of the exhibition including circles. It is up to the viewer to find their own meaning of the symbols echoing inside of them.
